The BJE Bulletin Board
Benito Juarez Elementary hosted a food drive to benefit the Contra Costa and Solano Food Banks.
In November, they donated 1100 pounds of food, equaling 916 meals.
Home of the Mighty Mites!
At Benito Juarez Elementary we seek to build student mastery every year. We strive to move students to higher performance band levels, and increase the percentage of students scoring Proficient or Advanced year-by-year.
What BJE has to offer:
- Common Core aligned curriculum
- Immersive English instruction
- After school homework club
- Day-time pull out tutoring
- Homework assigned daily, over weekends, and during school breaks
- Mandatory three week summer school
- Bi-weekly interim assessments
- Full-day kindergarten
- Music program
BJE HAS RIGOROUS ACADEMICS
In grades three and four, students will take the Common Core Assessment, a criterion referenced test; students will be assessed using a norm-reference test, such as the NWEA North West Evaluation Association), in grades two through five.
At BJE, we offer more, working with the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Program with Johns Hopkins University, where students have the opportunity to take advance courses and visit various college campuses in the summer. Full and partial scholarships are rewarded based on merit and need.
BJE is also a direct feeder to Richmond Charter Academy, the highest-performing middle school in West Contra Costa! The PATH to college starts at BJE.
