We pride ourselves on being one of the highest performing public middle schools in Alameda County. We provide a structured learning environment for our students that is heavily focused on daily attendance, educator effectiveness, and test-score data. Our mission is to foster a culture of hard work and prepare our students in a manner that will help them excel in high school and attend the college of their dreams.

DCA offers California State Common Core Standards based curriculum, which includes daily blocks of:

  • 90 minutes of English Language Arts and Mathematics
  • 60 minutes of History and Science
  • 60 minutes of Physical Education

In addition, we also offer: 

  • Mandatory summer session to ensure that students are prepared as they move forward through middle school.
  • Two hours of homework each night, and homework packets assigned for each holiday break.

And Educational After-School Activities

We offer a variety of activities every day including: homework help and tutoring, band, yearbook, guitar lessons, basketball, volleyball, chess, and more! 

 

We are also a proud partner of the John Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth that gives students the opportunity to participate in college-level summer programs and online courses.
